6 Week Adult Beginner Fencing Course
Adult Beginners Fencing Course
Have you wanted to try out an Olympic Sport? Still on the fence about exercise? 18 years or over? Then we want you to learn to fence!
We offer regular beginner fencing classes for adults. The beginner classes are held at the club on Thursday and last for six weeks. We request payment upfront when booking the course as we have to cap the numbers for the sessions.
There is currently a special offer in place where if you book two places you save £30 over the standard price, so why not bring a friend or a partner along with you.
At the end of the course you will have an understanding about:
- how to hold a sword
- basic bladework
- basic defensive and offensive techniques
- basic fencing tactics
The classes are conducted in groups, often with work in pairs. Towards the end of the course you'll be able to have an electric bout yourself!
The session will consist of a footwork session, followed by bladework and then some free fencing. For the class, you'll need to wear trainers, a t-shirt, and tracksuit bottoms with pockets that can be zipped shut, or are sewn shut, or better still- no pockets (shorts not allowed). All other fencing equipment is provided by the club. You may want to bring a bottle of water and a towel with you!
